Cravings

After having lunch I suddenly found myself craving for my all-time favorites from the chocolate and pretzel departments. I've never had cravings as bad as these before.

Craving 1: Milka Lila Pause - Fraise

www.germandeli.com

The last time I had one of these was 8 years ago, in the United Arab Emirates. Yup, almost a decade ago and I still haven't forgotten the luscious taste of Lila Pause Fraise. The bar is not too sweet and the kind of milk chocolate they use really goes well with the light, strawberry filling. Ah the filling.... It's the only fruit filling in chocolate that appeals to my taste buds. It doesn't taste fruity or jam-like, but at the same time it doesn't taste artificial at all. It's like soft nougat flavored with strawberry mashed in milk. Anyway, I'm really bad at describing things and I guess I'm not doing justice to the chocolate. You can check out germandeli for more information. You can also read what other people are saying about Lila Pause. Yum!

Craving 2: Cemoi Truffles

www.thechocolateshoppe.com

It was at grandma's where I first tasted Cemoi Fantasie truffles. In retrospect, the more appropriate word would be devoured. Yup, devoured a whole box! Actually, the ones I had then weren't as fabulous because they've sorta melted and lost their powdery coating. They were very good nonetheless. As for my succeeding encounters with the truffles, I can only describe them as perfect. The chocolate melts in your mouth leaving a taste that makes you want to go for more. The dusting of cocoa powder provides a perfect balance to the sweet melt-in-your-mouth ball of chocolate it covers.

Craving 3: Lindt Pistacchio

www.lindt.com

I love my grandma. It was at grandma's (yet again) where I first had what I would say is the best bar from the Lindt collection. The light outer milk chocolate melts in your mouth to reveal a creamy milk and pistacchio interior. I'm not a chocolate connoisseur and again I fear I may not be doing justice to the food. All I can say is it is simply F - A -B -U -L -O - U -S. Fabulous! Rustan's in Katipunan used to sell them but I don't think they do anymore. Or at least I wasn't able to find them in the shelves the last couple of times I've been there. Oh well....
Craving 4: Synders of Hanover - Sourdough Hard Pretzels (Honey Mustard & Onion)

www.snydersofhanover.com

Have I mentioned that I love my grandma? It was at grandma's (where else!?!?) where I first had a taste of these delectable hard pretzels. I know a lot of people who find the flavor weird or too strong but I for one love the tangy taste of the mustard and onion. It's kinda hard to describe but the taste of Piknik honey mustard shoestring potatoes come close.

It's a pity that I can't find them here -- the reason I am desperately looking for an online grocer that would deliver them to the Philippines. If anyone happens to know where I can find any of these cravings please let me know :)
